The Grupo Madre Teresa BCS is a nondenominational non-profit organization that provides a variety of essential services to some of the most vulnerable members of the rural Mexican community in the Southern Baja. The Grupo Madre Teresa BCS serves a key role in the health and well-being of the town of El Pescadero and the surrounding areas. During this period of COVID, Grupo Madre Teresa has been the only source of nutrition for 200 families.
Grupo Madre Teresa BCS volunteers also provide care for community members with medical conditions, organize clothing drives, and provide much needed support at the most difficult times in peoples’ lives. Giovanni, the founder, is a trained nurse and even delivers babies for many families who otherwise would not have medical support during childbirth.
Volunteers with the organization often times ride deep into the back country on horseback to make sure that people living there have what they need to survive.
The organization prides itself on its well-deserved reputation in the community for NEVER turning anyone away.
The Grupo Mother Teresa BCS fulfills its vital mission without support from any religious institution or the government.
No one associated with the group receives a salary or is reimbursed for expenses. They are truly volunteers – in time, effort and resources. No rent is paid and there is no overhead.
